Ibex is a booking, scheduling and billing intermediary. Tutors listed on Ibex are independent professionals, not Ibex employees. Ibex reviews tutor applications and booking requests before they proceed, but does not guarantee academic outcomes, examination results, or the availability of any specific tutor at any specific time.

A guardian account is created and controlled by a parent or legal guardian, who adds their student(s) as records under that account and is responsible for all activity, bookings, and payments made through it. By adding a student record, you confirm you are that student's parent or legal guardian, or otherwise authorized to act on their behalf.

A user under 18 may also hold their own Ibex account under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who remains responsible for that account's activity, bookings, and any payments arising from it. By creating an account, a user under 18 confirms they do so with their parent or guardian's knowledge and permission.

Tutors create their own accounts and are responsible for the accuracy of their profile, qualifications, and availability. Ibex reviews tutor applications before a profile becomes publicly visible; approval reflects our review process and does not constitute a guarantee, certification, or background check beyond what is explicitly stated on the tutor's profile.

A booking request is not a confirmed lesson. Every request is reviewed by Ibex before being forwarded to a tutor, and the tutor may accept or decline it. A lesson is confirmed only once the tutor accepts. Either party may request changes or cancellation before the lesson takes place; repeated late cancellations may affect a guardian's or tutor's standing on the platform.

Tutors set their own hourly rate per subject; rates are shown transparently before a booking is requested. The rate in effect at the time of a request is the rate charged for that lesson, even if the tutor's listed rate changes afterward. Ibex retains a commission on each completed lesson — currently between 25% and 35% of the lesson fee, disclosed to tutors at the time they list a subject. Completed lessons accrue into a single monthly invoice per guardian; invoices list each lesson individually. Payment terms and accepted methods are stated on each invoice.

A guardian may cancel a booking request while it is pending review or awaiting the tutor's response, at no charge. Once a lesson is confirmed, cancellation terms (notice period, any late-cancellation fee) are as stated at the time of booking or agreed directly with the tutor through the platform. Disputes over a specific lesson or charge should be raised with Ibex before the related invoice is paid wherever possible.

Use of Ibex to arrange tutoring outside the platform in order to avoid its fees is not permitted once a relationship has been formed through Ibex. We expect guardians, students, and tutors to communicate respectfully; we reserve the right to suspend any account for abusive behavior, fraud, or attempts to circumvent the safeguarding measures described in our Privacy Policy.

Ibex facilitates the connection, scheduling, and billing between guardians and tutors but is not a party to the tutoring itself. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Ibex's liability is limited to the commission it retained on the lesson(s) giving rise to a claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under German or Turkish law, including liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence.

We may update these terms as the platform evolves. Material changes will be notified by email to registered accounts before they take effect. Continued use of Ibex after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
